Queen’s Park - In the latest attempt to buy votes, Premier Doug Ford has announced that if re-elected every Ontario resident will receive 10,000 PC Optimum points.
Ford said in a press conference held in Stouffville this morning that the bonus Optimum points would be part of his government’s plan to assist residents finically stresses, as well as stimulate the economy.
“Folks, I know how tough it can to put food on your tables right now. That’s why these Optimum points are going to help the people of Ontario get by,” Ford stated, “You can use them to buy pretty much anything! Milk, bread, deodorant. Heck, you can even use them to buy rapid tests once I stop giving them out for free.”
Ford assured the province that the points were definitely not a bribe, but we’re merely there to assist residents if they did choose to re-elect him.
“You know a lot of you thought the license fee refund was an attempt to buy votes. Well it wasn’t, and this promise isn’t either. It’s just a strong reminder that good things will happen if I get your vote.”
The points, equal to $10, can be redeemed at any Shoppers Drug Mart or Loblaws grocery store.
“Re-Election Optimum Bonus Days” will only be eligible for those currently enrolled in the Optimum program, and proof of voting for Ford must be submitted directly to Gallen Weston’s P.O. box before points can be received.
