Torontonians Waited Hours To Stare At Homeless Encampment They Mistook For Nuit Blanche Exhibit

Toronto - As thousands descended on the city for this year’s Nuit Blanche art festival, the surprising star of the show was not one of the exhibits but an encampment of unhoused individuals attendees mistook for art. Lines spread all the way across Nathan Phillips Square so art lovers could stare at several tents, a few tupperware bins, and a large tarp that a group of individuals were currently residing in. Many raved about the living situation they mistook for art, commenting on how masterfully the artist had perfectly encapsulated the current state of the city. The individuals living in the encampment were awarded the prestigious Best of Nuit award which included a $25 Starbucks gift card and an invitation back to next year’s festival.
