Galen Weston Contemplating Which Industry To Next Drive Into Unaffordability

By Andrew Scott

Toronto - Following the news Tuesday that Galen Weston, president and CEO of Loblaw Companies Ltd., will be stepping down from his long tenure with the grocery empire, Toronto media is abuzz with speculation about which industry he plans to next enter in order to drive up prices to the level of unaffordability.

“There are not a lot of options left for him at this point,” suggests business pundit Marisa Slater, “As so many of today’s economic sectors in Toronto are already out of reach to average city dwellers. With real estate, post-secondary education, insurance rates, gas prices and, thanks to his legacy, food costs now prohibitively expensive, there are not many business areas left into which he can next enter and push into exorbitance.”

Acknowledging that making a decision about next steps is difficult because of just how crowded the space of diabolical billionaires intent on separating the common person from their paycheque is in Toronto, Weston plans on taking some needed time to deliberate his next career move, before returning.
