Ford Orders 400,000 Shovels To Help Ontario Students Combat Snow Storm

Toronto - As Ontario students prepare to head back to in-person learning tomorrow, they’ll have to not only deal with the pandemic at its peak but upwards of 30cm of snowfall. Luckily, Premier Ford announced today that he has secured nearly half a million snow shovels for Ontario schools.

“I understand that this can be a challenging situation for many of our students, wondering whether Covid or snow will kill them first,” said Ford, “But fear not, because when we provide students with their two rapid tests we will also give them a snow shovel to help them clear some of this snow out of the way.”

Ford said that shovels are the most effective way to stay warm and dry during snowstorms, and that by providing this one tool there was no risk of hypothermia.

“Schools are safe to open tomorrow, just shovel your own path to one using and hunker down,” said Ford.

The Ford government has not made it clear how they plan to distribute the shovels, but have suggested they will prioritizes areas with higher snowfall and conservative voters.

Ford also announced that moving forward, parents would not be contacted about snow days.

The premier said his team is also looking at installing HEPA filters in the sky to help slow the spread of future snow falls.
