Entire City Really Excited To Drink In Park
Park - Two Toronto city councillors have tabled a motion to allow consumption of alcoholic beverages in parks this summer and many park-goers are excited about this new idea.
We headed down to Trinity Bellwoods, a popular park just nestled in the west end between Queen and Dundas, and spoke to some residents about their thoughts on the possibility of drinking in the park.
“I think that would be real neat. What a fun thing to experience,” stated two 28 year old white guys playing spike ball at 3:27PM on a Thursday.
“Are you a cop? You legally have to tell me if you are,” another man enjoying the park said to us.
“Wow. I sure hope that they let people drink in parks. I bet I could make a lot of money collecting the empty cans if that were ever allowed in our city,” an elderly women told us.
“I love my son. But he’s tee-ball games would be a lot more enjoyable if I could have six or seven beers during the game,” a local tee-ball coach tells us.
If accepted, the pilot project would run from July 1 to October 9 and Torontonians will definitely not be doing any park drinking in May or June even though those would hypothetically be the best months for park beers.
