Doug Ford Moves Greenbelt To Ontario Place

Toronto - Following the decision to backtrack on developing nearly 3000 hectares of protected land earlier this month, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced this morning that development will proceed on that land but he will be moving the Greenbelt designation to parts of the Ontario Place grounds.

Between the new home for the Ontario Science Centre and a multi-million dollar spa complex will sit the New Greenbelt; a small hill with a tree and a couple bushes that will be fully protected from further development.

“Folks, I know how important building unaffordable housing in conservation land is for our province. But I also know how important preserving our province’s beautiful green space is,” Ford announced early Monday morning, “This New Greenbelt will be a beautiful space all residents can enjoy for the small admission fee of just $10.”

Ford reassured residents this new space would never be subject to development, unless any developers had a good idea for it like a Beavertail hut or something.
