Ford Closes 10 Safe Injection Sites, Stating That There’s Already A Perfectly Good Park Right Across The Street

Queen’s Park - Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford is defending his government’s plan to close 10 of the provinces safe injection sites, citing that the cost of operating these sites no longer made sense considering there’s a nice park right across the street that could serve the same purpose.

“I’ve listened to people in these neighbourhoods. There’s needles in the parks, needles in the school yards. And if the needles are already ending up in these parks why don’t they just go there in the first place,” stated a flustered premier.

Experts are calling on Ford to reconsider his decision, noting that parks don’t offer the same safe environment that these sites do. Ford continued to defend his decision, noting that the safe injection sites didn’t offer any natural sunlight or an opportunity to play spike ball.
