Will Smith Receives 25 Year Ban From The Juno Awards
Rebel Nightclub - Following the events of last month’s Oscars which resulted in Smith receiving a 10 year ban from the attending the award show, the Canadian Grammy’s have issued a similar ban to the famous rapper.
“Due to the violent actions of Mr Smith,” the Juno awards posted from their soon-to-be verified Twitter account, “we have decided to ban Mr Smith from attending the Junos, as well as any activities during Juno Week, for the next 25 years.”
Named after the iconic Elliot Page film of the same name, the Junos are a yearly award show that celebrates the artistic and technical achievements of Canadians and musicians, of which Smith is neither.
Some were quick to respond to the Juno’s tweet regarding Smith’s ban, accusing them of simply piling onto the scandal to gain more publicity for the upcoming awards show.
“Why would this be a publicity stunt? We got Simu Liu hosting this year. We’re expecting to have a record-breaking dozens of viewers this year with that kind of star power,” president of the Juno Awards, Sheila Gordson, stated.
We reached out Smith, who was not slated to attend this years awards nor has he ever attended, for comment on the ban. However, all that we received back was a “Who tf is this and what are you talking about?” from a member of Smith’s team.
