Toronto Man Trapped In Elevator Kind Of Hoping He Doesn’t Get Rescued

Toronto - After rolling blackouts impacted parts of Toronto’s downtown core yesterday, many unlucky residents were left trapped in high rise elevators. But for 36 year old Jared Smith, being trapped in his office’s elevator turned out to be the best part of his year so far.

“I’ve never been more at peace since being stuck in this 6’x8’ box. It’s much more spacious than the den bedroom I currently rent, and $1500/month cheaper,” Smith tells us, “Plus I’m still on my work’s wifi so that’s another expense I don’t have to worry about. Best day ever!”

Smith, who was finally rescued after 16 hours due to a staffing shortage of emergency responders, says he plans to move back into the elevator at the end of the month, assuming a foreign investor doesn’t outbid him on the lease.
