Many Parents Say They’ll Be Gaslighting Their Children Into Thinking Christmas Is Cancelled Because They’re Dumb And Not Because The Family Is Broke
Ottawa - A recent poll amongst Canadian parents has found that due to increased inflation and the rising cost of living affording gifts this holiday season is nearly impossible, with many stating that rather than admitting the harsh realities of life to their children they’ve decided to just say this year they were on Santa’s naughty list.
“After already spending hundreds of dollars on groceries to feed my extended family this Christmas, it’s completely impossible to spend even more money buying my kids lego sets and Minecraft add-ons,” mother of two Sandra Holmes tells us, “Luckily, thanks to two years of remote learning, my kids are pretty dumb. So we just told them that because they failed their last two math tests Santa would be skipping our house this year. Problem solved!”
Parents report that due to children’s difficulty grasping financial problems, it’s much easier to just say they’re the problem rather than admit that every month the bank might take their home away.
