Toronto Residents Lined Up For Hours For The Chance To See Cool Red Moon

Toronto - The city experienced a rare lunar eclipse early Tuesday morning, and many residents willing to wait in line were treated to the spectacle.

Lines stretched from the lakefront all the way up to College Street as residents from far and wide eagerly waited in the lineup hoping for their chance to see the red moon.

“I woke up at 1:30AM and waited in today’s line for almost three hours,” moon fanatic Sarah Austin tells us, “It was definitely worth it to get to see such a rare event that happens every 6 months!”

Toronto residents are known for their love of both lunar events and waiting around outside for stuff, so tonight’s special eclipse was the perfect pairing.

“I haven’t been this excited to wait in a line since that Starbucks in my neighbourhood had to close for a few hours last week due to a flood,” one resident in line tells us, “I waited outside for them to reopen for hours, so I’m no stranger to this kind of stuff.”

The lunar event was visible from almost anywhere in the city, however residents report they wouldn’t be able to let anyone know they saw the moon unless they waited in the lengthy line.
