Josh Matlow Unsure Why Popularity Now At All Time High

Trinity Bellwoods - Josh Matlow, the Canadian politician who has served as a member of Toronto’s City Council since 2010, saw a huge surge in popularity Wednesday. Matlow claims that all morning he has been greeted with the “thumbs up” gesture, enthusiastic backslaps, and high-fives reminiscent of Al Waxman‘s character in the “King of Kensington.”

When asked what was behind this sudden outpouring of love, the 46-year-old politician claimed to have no idea.

“I’m just doing what I’ve always done,” Matlow stated between warm embraces with constituents and random Torontonians. “Perhaps this stems from my strong record of environmentalism, such as the work I did in 2006 as a former school trustee installing solar panels on TDSB rooftops that is just now garnering me support.”

When asked whether, in fact, it was his recent proposition in support of day drinking in the park that was resulting in his sudden bump in popularity, Matlow seemed perplexed by the suggestion.
