Rescued Miners Ask To Be Put Back In Mine Upon Realizing They’re Still In Sudbury

Sudbury - As rescue workers continue to safely recover the 39 trapped miners, several of those who were rescued are now being asked to be put back in the mine after realizing they still live in Sudbury.

The miners were seen attempting to throw themselves down the rescue hatch yelling “It was so much better down there!” One miner was caught with over 5 kilos of dynamite he planned to use to blow a new entrance into the mine to escape the northern Ontario town.

Said one rescuer, “The last man we rescued was coming out of the hole screaming ‘I won’t go back’, I said, ‘don’t worry. You’re safe, you don’t have to go back in the mine.’ ‘No,’ he said, ‘I don’t want to go back to Sudbury’.”

Rescuers attempted to calm the miners down by reminding them of all Sudbury had to offer including a giant nickel, the Science North museum, and that the UN projects that by the year 2043 Sudbury would be “livable”.

Upon hearing of the miners reaction, the City of Sudbury is planning a pilot project to periodically trap more residents in mines as a form of vacation.
