Toronto Mayoral Candidate Wants To Replace Entire City With A Park

Toronto - A candidate in the Toronto mayoral race says if elected he will replace the city with a 156,000 acre park if elected.

Brian Cross stated in a news release posted on Friday that the new park space, which would be at least twice the size of New York’s Central Park, would help reduce emissions and solve the city’s housing crisis by forcing all residents to go live somewhere else.

“Parks are essential for mental health and the health of the planet, and currently the city of Toronto is the complete opposite of that,” stated Cross, “By bulldozing the city and putting a sprawling plot of grass in it’s place we will be making the world a much better place.”

“The Greater Toronto Area has one of the fastest growing urban populations in the industrialized world,” Cross continued, “And if elected mayor I will promise to put an immediate end to that.”

The current lease for the city, which is owned by A&W, is set to expire in 2030. Currently incumbent candidate John Tory says he has no plans to convert the city into a park, and will instead replace current parks with more condo buildings.
