Shoppers Drug Mart Now Offering Positions Paid Entirely In Optimum Points

Toronto - Following backlash this week for a confusing “volunteer” position that appeared like a full-time job, the Canadian pharmacy has since clarified they will instead be offering bonus Optimum points in lieu of pay to the individual working this position. Instead of $16.55 per hour, the position comes with 5000 Optimum points for each shift worked. Tasks for the position include stocking shelves, cashing out shoppers, receiving and unloading shipments, and intermediate-level plumbing. The job listing for the volunteer position also requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
