Gay References Removed From ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ For Florida Audiences
Florida - Harry Potter spin-off ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore’ has been edited for release in Florida to ensure any gay references have been removed, as part of a recent amendment to the states controversial “Don’t Say Gay” Bill.
The film had previously been edited for the Chinese market, removing a 6 second scene featuring Dumbledore ordering an iced coffee.
Upon learning of the Fantastic Beasts ‘Straight Cut’ in China, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis demanded all theatres in the state begin showing the Chinese version of the film.
“I think we all know what Dumbledore’s ‘secret’ is, and that’s not something that should be shoved down the throats of the film’s primary demographic of 30-somethings who still like Harry Potter,” said unfortunately soon-to-be president Ron DeSantis.
Warner Bros stated they wished for the film to be enjoyed by all audiences, and that a few small edits did nothing to undermine the spirit of a 3 hour film about to middle-aged gay men who canonically dated.
DeSantis has also requested certain scenes be cut from ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ that may encourage state residents to properly file their federal taxes.
