Ontario Will No Longer Require Surgeons To Wear Masks While Operating

Queen‘s Park - Ontario is set to end all remaining mask mandates this weekend for settings including public transit, long term care homes, and hospital operating rooms.

The province’s top doctor Kieran Moore has stated that the current trends and key indicators have led him to the decision that it is now safe to remove mask in these high risk settings including when your organs are exposed.

“The data I’ve looked at shows that even when removing the added layer of protection provided by your skin, masking in surgeries no longer provides any significant level of protection for patients or surgeons,” stated Moore.

All mask mandates are set to end on June 11, or for TTC passengers apparently a month ago.
