The Average Canadian Is Expected To Pay $31,000 For Groceries In 2024 And Some People Aren’t Happy

Ottawa - The average Canadian grocery bill will likely see a major increase this year after Canada’s Food Price Report predicted a 25% increase in grocery prices over the coarse of 2024.

The report cited many factors including the cost of inflation, import tax hikes, and general corporate greed. The report predicted that the average price of apples could get as high as $9.99/lb by October, and lemons as much as $5 a piece. The report also stated to not even ask what Canadians should expect avocados to cost by August.

While many Canadians say they are prepared for this new economic reality, other’s have voiced their concern.

“It’s a little ridiculous you know, half my pretax salary going towards food,” stated Kingston resident Samual Tope, “But hey, it’s just inspiring me to pursue a new venture selling my feet pics.”

Grocery CEOs say they are aware of the 25% increase prediction and say they are working tirelessly to get that up to at least 40%
