Local Bartender Begs Patron To At Least Look At The Cocktail List Before Ordering A Negroni Sbagliato

Parkdale - A local bartender in Toronto’s trendy west end says he’s more than happy to make you the popular drink, but just asks you at least pretend you might be interested in one of the cocktails off his new winter list he spent weeks curating.

Callum Patrick is the head bartender of Trials and Tribulations on Queen St West, and tells us the sbagliato has seen a huge popularity spike amongst Toronto’s millennial bar scene after the viral TikTok finally made it to Reels two weeks ago. Since then, Callum says he’s lost track of how many prosecco bottles he’s gone through.

“I spend 6 hours before every shift running egg whites through a cheese cloth for our signature Clarified Whiskey Sour. Can people at least read the description on the menu and say ‘Oh sounds good, maybe next time,’” Callum tells us while holding back tears.

While Callum says there’s no wrong way to drink a negroni, there certainly are different ways That’s why he add an entire page to the cocktail list featuring 14 different negroni variations that you could ask “Do these negronis all have prosecco in them?” before reverting to your new favourite cocktail of the last month.

“I mean just so you know, by definition a sbagliato always has prosec - sorry, yup sure coming right up,” a defeated looking Callum tells the 11th guest ordering the drink that night.

Callum says he’s hopeful the trend will soon wind down, especially once the community finds out about the cranberry-kissed Mezcal margarita going on his menu next week, just in time for the holidays.
