‘7-Eleven Selling Beer’ Awarded Michelin Bib Gourmand

Toronto - The Michelin Guide released its selection for the Toronto region last night, which saw stars awarded to new restaurants such as DaNico, and new additions to the Bib Gourmand list included a 7-Eleven that now serves beer.

The Michelin Bib Gourmand is given to restaurants “that offer good quality food for a good value”, and are often favourite spots of inspectors when they are in town. Though only recently being permitted to serve alcohol, representatives from the guide says this new addition has elevated the 7-Eleven experience to new heights.

“Of course there will always be a place for 10-course tastings, exquisite wine pairings, and microfoam. But there is truly no greater culinary experience that compares to crushing a buffalo chicken taquito while slugging back a Labatt Blue at 3:30AM in the at Dundas and Manning. Congratulations Chef Cheng, very well deserved.”
