Doug Ford Cancels Electric Car Rebate That “Benefits Millionaires” In Favour Of Giving Billions Of Dollars To Billionaire Auto Executives

Queens Park - Premier Ford has scrapped an electric car rebate meant to incentivize electric vehicle purchases as he said it “only benefitted millionaires who could afford Teslas.” Instead, the Premier has opted to blindly give billions of dollars to auto manufacturers on their good-will promise to maybe make more electric cars.

“What am I supposed to do? Subsidize the cost of these expensive vehicles with rebates and tax credits? That’s just unheard of,” said the Premier, “No, we’re just going to throw billions and billions at automotive makers and just hope they make some electric vehicles.”

Premier Ford said his plan was to have 400,000 electric cars built in Ontario by the year 2030. He said he would be working with the auto industry to ensure this goal was met 7 years after he’s out of office.

Ford concluded by saying “I believe the good folks at Chrysler will follow through on my ask. Because if you can’t trust the automotive industry, then who can you trust?”
