West End Bed Bug Community Joins Fellow Torontonians To Protest Closing Of Iconic Value Village Store
By Andrew Scott
Junction Triangle - Having learned Tuesday that Toronto’s beloved West End location of Value Village at Bloor and Landsdowne is slated to become a pair of condominium towers, the city’s bed bug community joined forces with local members of the Davenport riding to protest.
“With the rising cost of living in this city, the last thing we need is to replace affordable housing with even more condos,” one protesting bed bug tells us, “I can’t even support myself, let alone my 1200 kids, without affordable options in the neighbourhood.”
Demanding both an in-person meeting with MP Julie Dzerowicz, and permanent and sustainable housing, preferably in a pair of donated overpriced jeans, the newly named Toronto Bed Bug Community Organizing Coalition has taken up temporary residence at the neighbouring House of Lancaster until this unfortunate situation can be resolved.
