Ford Promises To Fill Every New ICU Bed
Queen’s Park - As Ontario continues through the 6th wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Premier Doug Ford has reassured residents that the province is prepared to add 3000 additional ICU beds, and he’s planning to fill every single one.
“Folks, Ontario is ready to handle up to 3000 ICU patients, and I’m ready to show you that’s possible,” Ford stated during a press conference, “Is your throat feeling a little scratchy? There’s an ICU bed for you.”
When asked to comment on the Liberal and NDP leaders calling on the province to reinstate health measures, Ford stated, “Mr Del Duca and Ms Horwath don’t believe that our strong and capable healthcare workers can handle treating 3000 ICU patients. Well folks, I’ve always been for the people of Ontario, and I’m going to show those two just how capable our hospital workers really are!”
Ford also stated along with the additional ICU beds, he believed the health care system would have no problem continuing to handle the current wave after his government added an additional 1500 mortuary beds.
