COVID-19 Now Leading Cause Of Death In The US, After Government Makes It Illegal To Go Outside and Shoot Each Other

Washington - A report out of Washington has officially declared the novel coronavirus to be the new leading cause of death across the United States. COVID-19 has overtaken the previous leading cause of death, gun violence, after cities across America have begun instituting strict self-isolation guidelines making it much harder for Americans to leave their homes to go shoot each other.

This weekend the death toll associated with COVID-19 reached over 20,000 in the US. However, the report also noted a steady drop in gun violence as citizens have been urged to only leave their homes for essentials, which evidently does not include murdering fellow citizens. The report notes that it is much harder to shoot neighbours, co-workers and strangers from the confines of your home.

“I’m glad the government saw this dangerous threat for what it was and took immediate action,” said New Jersey resident Dan Stocke. “Stopping the spread of COVID-19 isn’t a partisan issue, and it is great to see Republicans and Democrats coming together to find an immediate solution to end these senseless deaths.”

As the threat of the virus increases, city governments across the country have begun implementing even stricter measures for social distancing.

“Of course I want to be outside, and of course I don’t like that the government is telling me what to do. But when American lives are on the line, and preventative measures are so simple, why would I be opposed to that?” says Buffalo resident Cheryl Clarke.

The report also noted that with closing of public schools across the country in mid-March, America has experienced a record low number of school shootings.
