Someone In Toronto Is Renting Out A Tent In Their Backyard For $950 A Month

Toronto - The housing market is already competitive enough, but now things are getting even tougher after someone in the city’s west end just listed a camping tent in their yard for rent.

The 6 square foot unit is unfurnished and has a combined living-sleeping area. Storage is slightly limited but the landlord says they will be provided with a large tupperware container behind the tent. There’s no kitchen or running water, but the listing says the renter will have weekly access to the main house’s shower when the homeowners go to their cottage for the weekend.

Although living outside in a tent isn’t the most ideal situation, several commenters in the listing noted that it’s nearly impossible to find a single-dwelling unit for under $1000 even outside of the city.

The unit is currently listed for $950 a month, but already aggressive rental market it’s expected to rent for at least double that.
