Doug Ford Says He Will Convert Ontario Place Cinesphere Into World’s Largest Timbit
Toronto - The iconic Ontario Place fixture will be closing on October 17th to undergo a major overhaul that will see it become the world’s largest Timbit. The changes are all part of Ford’s Ontario Place revitalization plan.
Ford says he and his team have been brainstorming countless ways to try and bring business back to the condemned theme park, and finally settled on converting the circular theatre into a novelty sized pastry.
The original structure of the dome will remain intact. Workers will cover the dome completely in a synthetic dough-like compound that will slowly bake in the sun over the next year. The finished Timbit will then be coated in real Timbit glaze by December 2024.
The team in charge of the restorations is comprised of some of the province’s top architects and Tim Horton’s bakers, and the team will be led by the coffee chain’s executive pastry chef Emilio Franz. The giant Timbit is set to resemble the classic “old fashioned glazed”, but should the team be able to source enough dairy in time it may become a “sour cream glazed”.
“Folks, this Timbit is going to be big. And I’m not just talking about the size. People are going to come from all over the world to see this thing. From Seoul to St. John’s, people will travel to our great province to marvel at our large Timbit,” stated the premier.
It’s yet to be made confirmed if the “Cinebit” will continue to play old Christopher Nolan movies once it reopens.
