Following A Fractious Return to Legislature Monday, Ontario’s Parliament To Break For Another 19-Weeks

By Andrew Scott

Queen’s Park - After a 19-Week “summer” break that lasted until late-October, the Ontario Provincial Parliament’s return to work Monday saw contentious bickering about the province’s beleaguered health-care system, Ford’s proposed $200 rebate cheques, and a moratorium on bike lane construction that has left MPPs exhausted and mentally drained.

“The only solution,” stated backbencher Todd Clark in a leaked brief, “is for Parliament to immediately break for another 19-weeks so that MPPs can regain their composure and come back refreshed and able to support Ontarians in the manner to which they’ve grown accustomed.”

Although Doug Ford’s office was immediately contacted for comment on the proposed break, Progressive Conservative party staff revealed that the Premier could not be reached as he was busy racing back up Highway 400 towards his Huntsville cottage.
