Cirque du Soleil Drops Dababy
The Montreal-based performance group has dropped US rapper Dababy over homophobic comments made at Rolling Loud festival earlier this month. The rapper was set to join Cirque as part of their fall tour later this year.
The company has issued the following statement: “Though Monsiour Baby’s comments do align with our mid-2000’s policies, we no longer feel that HIV-positive performers can transmit the disease to audience members and therefore have made the decision to remove him from all remaining g tour spots.”
Cirque has replaced the rapper for all remaining shows with Jann Arden.
