City Confident Building More Unaffordable Condos Will Solve Housing Crisis
Toronto - Facing the on-going housing crisis, Toronto’s city council has voted in favour of adding even more multi-million dollar luxury condominiums to the city. In a unanimous vote, the council voted in favour of doubling the number of unaffordable condos by the end of 2026, in what has been the only idea floated by in the last 4 years. Many who are worried about foreign investors can rest easy knowing council has also handled that. “What if we limit foreign investors to only buying one unit per floor?” suggested one councillor, who was met with raving applause from their colleagues. Council says with the addition of these many new condos, the responsibility will now fall on citizens to try and figure out how to get that $100,000 down payment.
