‘Law And Order Toronto’ To Mostly Just Focus On Stories About Tearing Down Homeless Encampments

Culture - A new trailer for the Toronto-based spinoff of Law and Order: Criminal Intent was released yesterday and, delivering on it’s promise to tap into the city’s real crime culture, the show will mainly focus on cops knocking over tents. “When we set out to make this program, we wanted to showcase real stories based on the Toronto Police Service,” stated showrunner Vanessa Puglia, “That’s why the first 18 episodes of the series will focus on stories of real cops destroying real homeless encampments.” Puglia stated when doing research for the show, the TPS had a rich and vibrant backlog of countless stories focusing on this topic. In fact, she stated that other than a ten-year old file about a mayor who just liked to party, that seemed to be the majority of case files the TPS shared with her. Law and Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is set to premier on Citytv February 22 and is set to be cancelled on March 29.
