Metrolinx Unveils New Streetcar That Doesn’t Rely On Tracks

Toronto - As delays on Line 5 and 6 constructions continue, Metrolinx has said they will be completely scrapping the concept and instead replacing it with new streetcars that have full road capabilities.

“The traditional streetcar is so limited to the confines of the rails,” stated a Metrolinx rep, “This state of the art design allows our new streetcars to truly embrace the roads and travel wherever they please.”

The new vehicles are expected to expedite the opening of the Eglinton Line which is now set to open in 2029.
