Patrick Brown Scrambles To Change Last Name To ‘Ford’ Ahead Of Monday’s Election

Etobicoke - With no ‘Ford’ on the municipal election ballot of Etobicoke North for the first time in 22 years, current Brampton mayor, and long-time Mississauga resident Patrick Brown, is apparently scrambling to finalize the paperwork necessary to legally change his last name to ‘Ford’ in a last-minute bid to add his candidacy to the mix.

“I’ve been very happy serving as Mayor of Brampton since 2018,” stated Ford (née Brown), “But when my recent controversial decision to end an investigation into spending on city contracts, which coincidently occurred at the exact moment that I decided to run for re-election, was described by media sources as ‘Ford-esque,’ I got an idea.”

Although there is no word yet as to the status of Brown’s name change bid, a representative from Canada Post did acknowledge that Brown’s “Mail Forwarding” request from his former Lorne Park, Mississauga home has recently been updated from Wellington Street West to Rexdale.
