Uganda - Calls to bring Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony to justice have begun recirculating the internet after a recent photo surfaced online showing the warlord not exercising proper social distancing measures with a child soldier.

The photo depicts the leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army standing approximately 1.6 metres from his 11 year old lieutenant, despite the World Health Organization’s insistence that individuals must maintain a minimum of 2 metres apart to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Kony first drew worldwide notoriety after the viral documentary “Kony 2012” exposed his initial warcrimes to the western world during the month of March 2012. Now, with the viral photos of Kony standing very close to one of his abducted child soldiers, a new generation of social activists are reigniting the campaign to bring Kony to justice.

“We’re all supposed to be in this together, and his blatant disregard for social distancing is appalling,” said Ryerson University student Katherine Dory, “We all have to do our part and make sacrifices if we want to beat COVID-19. This Kony guy needs to be brought to justice and answer for his crimes against personal space.”

The recruitment wing of the LRA, however, has taken the threat of COVID more seriously by implementing new work-from-home measures. This is allowing the warlords to try and entice children to join their ranks through viral Tik Tok dances, going live on Instagram and playing Fortnite, all while doing their part to prevent further spread of the virus.
